Hanover was founded 25 years before the country, on July 4th, 1761. Women have been excluded from serving in government for longer than they have been included. In 2025, Town Meeting passed Article 25 requiring gender neutral language in all Town documents. This project accelerates this work by creating a database of gender-neutral Town Charter & Ordinances.
