Los Angeles is putting in the longest, largest greenway, along the LA River. The concrete bottom has been broken, nature restored, kayakers appeared, fishing is flourishing, and a walking biking path allows people to connect disparate places in Los Angeles free from cars.

But it is not easy to get there. Without infrastructure that supports walking and bicycling, this gem is separated from people by dangerous roads and high speed vehicles.
